GR YouTube Trend Hunter helps users analyze publicly available YouTube video and channel statistics and calculates a “Trend Score” to identify high-performing and fast-growing videos. This policy explains what information the extension uses and how it is handled.

2) Data We Collect

We do not collect personal user data.

The extension does not collect, store on our servers, sell, or share personally identifiable information such as name, email address, phone number, precise location, or financial information.

3) Data the Extension Processes (On Your Device)

To provide its functionality, the extension may read and process the following information locally:

• Public YouTube page information (e.g., video ID, title, channel ID, upload date) visible on YouTube pages.
• Public video and channel statistics retrieved from the YouTube Data API (e.g., view counts, subscriber counts), when enabled.
• User preferences/settings (e.g., optional API key entered by the user, UI preferences).

4) Local Storage

The extension may store cached video/channel data and user settings in chrome.storage on your device to improve performance and reduce repeated API requests. This data remains local to your browser profile unless you choose to sync your browser profile using Chrome’s built-in sync features.

5) Network Requests / Third-Party Services

The extension may communicate with:

• YouTube (www.youtube.com) to access the pages where the extension runs.
• Google APIs (www.googleapis.com) to request public video/channel statistics from the YouTube Data API.

These requests are used only to provide trend analysis features. We do not operate a separate server to collect your browsing data.

6) What We Do NOT Do

• We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties.
• We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose.
• We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
• We do not load or execute remote code (no remote JavaScript is downloaded to run in the extension).

7) Permissions Explanation

• storage: stores local cache and user preferences on your device.
• activeTab: allows access to the currently active YouTube tab when you interact with the extension.
• scripting: injects scripts into YouTube pages to display Trend Score and related UI.
• Host permissions: https://www.youtube.com/* and https://www.googleapis.com/* are used to run on YouTube and to call the YouTube Data API.

8) Security

We take reasonable measures to keep the extension’s functionality focused on its stated purpose. Any cached data is stored locally in your browser and not sent to our servers.

9) Children’s Privacy

The extension is not designed to collect information from children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.

10) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the extension or policy requirements. The “Effective date” at the top will indicate the latest version.
